Journal of Community Health Nursing, 2022, цитирований: 0, doi.org, Abstract
To explore experiences with TB management among community-based care providers. Descriptive qualitative study. A total of 25 care providers were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected by semi-structured interviews and analyzed using content analysis. Six themes emerged from this study: "various dissemination channels," "compassionate religious volunteerism," "shortage of resources," "keeping TB cases hidden," "patient impediments to care," and "perceived economic burdens of patients." The findings can provide an understanding that the management of tuberculosis in the community requires collaboration between various institutions as well as patients. Building a sustainable TB system would be beneficial. A TB care model can be established between government and other institutions.

The visible physical dysfunction and invisible psychological effects after stroke prevent young patients from returning to their pre-stroke roles and social activities. To comprehensively analyze the psychological experience and social reintegration needs of young stroke patients, which may be beneficial for improving quality of life and social reintegration after stroke. We conducted a comprehensive literature search of 10 databases. The screening and quality assessment of the included articles were performed by the Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument (QARI). Meta-aggregation was conducted to synthesize the findings of the included studies. We summarized the certainty of confidence using the Confidence in Evidence from Reviews of Qualitative Research (CERQual) approach.A total of 5506 studies were screened, of which 12 were included. Data synthesis suggested two new themes: (a) the self-growth process from denial of stroke to accepting stroke (high CERQual confidence), and (b) desire to regain pre-stroke normality, but having difficulty in the social reintegration process (high CERQual confidence).Stroke, as a traumatic event, disrupts the life structure of young patients, and their needs of reintegration are not adequately considered. Interventions based on the principle of individuation should focus on this issue to restore continuity in life after stroke.

To determine the incidence of anxiety and depression and examine their cross-sectional associations with chronic pain and quality of life among older adults in rural China.Observational, multi-center, cross-sectional study.A structured, self-report questionnaire was administered. Descriptive statistics analysis and stepwise multiple linear regression analysis were performed.244 participants (female: 47.1%) filled out the questionnaires. 87 (35.7%) had symptoms of anxiety and 123 (50.4%) had symptoms of depression. The sensory pain descriptor, affective pain descriptor, physical component summary, and mental component summary significantly influenced symptoms of anxiety while affective pain descriptor, physical component summary, and mental component summary significantly influenced symptoms of depression.Subjective pain experiences and QoL, including physical and mental domains, are strongly related to symptoms of anxiety and depression among older adults in rural China.Interventions that highlight subjective pain experiences and QoL may help to relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression in older adults.

To evaluate learning experience and clinical outcomes after intervention.A mixed study.A multiple cohort sample (n=75) of community nurses underwent an SP simulation. A survey and 12- and 24-month incident data were used to evaluate the learning experience and clinical outcomes. The nurses were highly satisfied with their learning. In addition, their ability to identify near-misses and the presence of incidents showed a statistically significant improvement (p < .05).SP simulation effectively improved learning experience and clinical outcomes regardless of nurses' experience.Simulation learning can have a positive impact on clinical outcomes.

To identify nursing students' intention and the predictors of intention to work as a community health nurse in China.A cross-sectional investigation was conducted.A questionnaire based on the Theory of Planned Behavior was delivered by Wechat to a convenience sample of 810 students. In the study, 345 students (42.6%) expressed the intention to be a community health nurse, and the program type, students' attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control were significant predictors of this intention. The results highlight the necessity of community health nursing education reform in curriculum, teaching methods and nursing educators training, so as to improve students' ability and acceptance of community health nursing.Working as community health nurse is not favored by students, and the current situation of community health nursing and nursing education system in China has not helped students recognize the attractive complexity in community care.

To explore the relationship between walking activity and sleep quality among elderly.A cross-sectional, correlation study with purposive sampling was conducted on participants with a walking habit but not regular moderate-intensity exercise.Data were collected by structured questionnaires, including the Walking Activity Questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The total walking time per week and frequency of walking per day were significant predictors of sleep quality.Walking can help older community-dwelling adults improve their sleep quality.Walking more than once per day and total walking time per week ≥210 minutes were associated with good sleep quality.

Journal of Community Health Nursing, 2018, цитирований: 10, doi.org, Abstract
This study aimed to screen the prevalence of pain in Chinese community-dwelling older adults and to evaluate the effects of a brief mindfulness-based intervention on chronic pain. The prevalence of pain among Chinese older adults was 40.5%. The brief mindfulness intervention had significant effects on reducing pain intensity (P = 0.004), and increasing the mindfulness measures: observing, acting with awareness, non-judging and non-reactivity inner experience (all P values < 0.05). Pain prevalence among Chinese older adults was relatively high. This study showed that a brief mindfulness-based intervention reduced ratings of pain intensity and enhanced ratings of the perception of mindfulness.

The aim was to examine the associations among empowerment processes, health outcomes, and related factors in patients living with diabetes. This cross-sectional study analyzed a convenience sample of 144 patients with diabetes in Taiwan. Data were collected with questionnaires, HbA1C, blood pressure, and total cholesterol.Empowerment processes were significantly associated with health outcomes, including self-care behaviors, quality of life, and HbA1C. Diabetes-related complications and treatment variables were associated with empowerment processes and health outcomes. To optimize the empowerment processes needed to promote the health of patients with diabetes, healthcare professionals should consider patient perceptions of empowerment processes and related factors.
